Who can use the Empowerment Center?

The Empowerment Center is open to all community residents. To participate in programs, events, or services, you must sign up for a free membership.

Is membership really free?

Yes! Membership is completely FREE for all community residents.

Will I have to pay any hidden fees to be a member?

The Cornhill Empowerment Center will not charge any fees. However, some programs hosted at the center may have fees to cover the cost of materials or equipment. For example, if the Red Cross hosts a CPR certification course, there may be a fee for training materials and certification cards. Any program-related fees will be clearly communicated in advance — no hidden fees, and full transparency.

Why do I need a membership to participate?

Membership helps us keep track of participation, communicate updates, and ensure programs are accessible and tailored to community needs. It’s also a way to help keep the space safe and organized.

Do children need memberships?

Yes. Children must also have a membership, which can be included under a parent or guardian’s family membership so both you and your children can enjoy the benefits together.

Do I need to be a resident of Cornhill to join?

No, all community residents are welcome!

As a resident, can I host a program or event at the Empowerment Center?

Residents are not able to host programs or events independently, and private gatherings such as baby showers or birthday parties are not permitted at the Empowerment Center. To host a program or event, you must be affiliated with a nonprofit organization and register as a partner through that organization.
